When the Safari Browser on your iPhone Crashes

Written by Amit Agarwal on Jul 20, 2010

The built-in Safari browser on iPhone, iPad Touch or the iPad is brilliant at rendering web pages but sometimes it doesn’t play that nice with certain sites.

For instance, you may have noticed that some web pages don’t load in Safari at all and the browser quits (or crashes) as you try accessing these pages.

You maybe thinking that some rogue JavaScript on the page may be responsible for the crash but if that same page loads fine on your desktop browser, it’s most a Safari related problem.

To get Safari to load that page without crashing, here’s what you can do:

1. Go to Settings – > Safari and turn off Autofill for Names & Passwords.

2. Open Safari and visit the same web page that was crashing earlier.

3. Go back to your Safari settings and turn on Autofill again.

If you still have a problem, try clearing your browser cache and cookies.
