If you happen to come across some unique and interesting font in a magazine, web graphic or a billboard on the highway, here’s what you can do to find the name of that font:

Step 1. Download the WhatTheFont App from iTunes store – this is a free app and available for iPhone as well as iPod touch.

Step 2. Snap a photograph of that poster or magazine using the built-in camera of your iPhone. iPod touch users may use images saved from their emails. For web graphics, you may capture the iPhone screen and use that image with the WhatTheFont App.

Step 3. Confirm which characters are used in the image using the WhatTheFont app and you’ll quickly see a list of matching font names.

You can then either e-mail a link to a MyFonts page with more info on that font, or open it up in the iPhone’s built-in Safari web browser. Thanks Tina.
