A More Colorful Version of Google [Screenshots]

Some screenshot images of Google's latest search interface that includes colorful icons and a couple of other design tweaks.

Here are some screenshot images of Google’s latest search interface spotted by a Twitter user. Unlike the previous Google redesigns, this one is unique because it includes colorful icons – something you rarely expect to see on a Google search page.

The new Google design is not live for everyone yet so you may or may not see it on your computer. All screen captures are courtesy Jeremy Zilar (@silencematters) found via Lidija Davis and Mathew Ingram.

ya came across this few days back and what i found interesting was that it shows the nearby major location from where you are using your internet connection under the search bar.

Hmm… I’ve had this interface enabled by default for over a week now. I was actually wondering why it wasn’t being spoken about on the web that much. Guess I become one of a lucky few to get into some kind of a limited test set.

Actually you can try this interface. Just go to google.com. Beware, its the main site, not google.co.in . People from India can click on the link go to google.com in the bottom of the page. Now copy paste the thing below in the address bar.

I have been seeing these in a few iterations for a few months now. You could opt in early by pasting some line of javascript in your url bar whilst on the google.com so Google it if anyone is interested.

Based on what are these interfaces displayed for any user? I’d noticed this at my home PC but not at my office, though I login with the same GMail id at both places.

Until now I’d thought that I would’ve installed some GreaseMonkey/Stylish js to get that interface :) But anyways I did like the location selection option, hope to expect something there in future.
