The latest logo on the Google China homepage (google.cn) points to some of the inventions that happened in China – Paper, Gun Powder, Printing and the Compass.

Coming just a day after Google announced it may abandon China in the wake of hacker attacks and ongoing problems with censorship, the image raised questions.

Was it meant to celebrate China’s great ancient heritage? Or was this a subtle dig at China, highlighting the glorious past to underscore a grimmer present? link.
