While some people would want you to believe that social channels like Twitter and Facebook have spelt doom for RSS readers, I still find myself on the other side of the conversation and am not switching sides anytime soon.
FeedDemon, an RSS reader for Windows, have a new beta version (3.5.*) in the works that brings some useful enhancements especially on the UI side. Give it a try.
