Jack Landau recently explored option for microphones that can be used for recording voice narrations in presentations and screencast videos like in Adobe Captivate, Camtasia Studio, etc. He suggests using USB microphones from Samson or BlueMic over the regular "mic input" ones because of the overall poor sound quality that is mainly due to the sound card attached to the PC.
