The name may sound confusing but Nero LiquidTV | TiVo PC is new hardware + software solution for Windows that enables you to watch live TV on your desktop. You may also record TV shows on to your computer’s hard drive or transfer them to other devices including the iPod or burn them onto  a DVD.

If you already own a TV tuner card, you could just buy the software and experience the TiVO DVR Interface on your computer. This also means that users in India, UK and other countries may also get to try TiVo through the desktop software though the TiVo DVR set-top boxes aren’t available in these countries yet.

Nero TiVo DVR comes with a a TiVo PC remote, a TV tuner card to allow television signals to be received by the PC and an IR Blaster to create a wireless, infrared connection between the cable or satellite box and the PC.  It also comes with a one-year subscription to the TiVo service, which automatically finds and digitally records a user’s favorite shows.

Nero LiquidTV will be available both for Windows XP and Vista systems in October. Am not sure if this will appear to Windows Vista users who already have Windows Media Center installed on their computers as there’s an annual subscription fee attached to the TiVo service.
