David Allen – Whereas I used to throw away business cards once I had input the data into my contact manager, I have recently discovered value in keeping them in the appropriate folder for the topic, client, or project to which they’re related, often just stapled to my rough meeting notes, or to my printout of a mind-map or agenda. Later, seeing the card itself brings back a clearer sense of context. As I purge my files regularly, I can later just toss them, if the importance has fallen away sufficiently over time.
