Just like Microsoft provides Visual Studio to universities so that students get used to the Microsoft technologies, Adobe will give away free copies of Adobe Flex Builder 2 to students and faculty members of any educational institute across the world.

With Adobe Flex Builder 2 IDE, you can create impressive web apps like the popular Picnik photo editor or the HP Print Studio. Adobe Flex 3 is in beta and will be available for download in early 2008.

The prices of Adobe Flex Builder 3 will be as follows:

Flex Builder 3 Standard Edition – $249
Adobe Flex Builder 3 Professional Edition $699 [includes charting support]

Adobe Flex Builder is available for Windows and Mac. The Linux version of Adobe Flex 3 is in the works though pricing of Flex Builder 3 Linux edition is yet to be announced.
