Blinkx, a company that develops one of the best video search engines on the web, has released a new Video Screensaver that can play breaking news video clips from premium sources while your computer screen is idle.
Internally named Project Stetson, this Blinkx video screensaver also comes as a desktop application so you can watch the latest news videos or any specific videos even while using the PC.
The screensaver software is available for download at blinkxbeat.com. It’s a mere 1.7 MB in size.
Blinkx Video Screensaver is supported only on Windows XP and won’t run on Windows Vista machines.
If you are set this as a default screensaver in your Office desktop, Rafe Needleman has some advice - “I set up the Blinkx Beat screensaver and then got called off to a meeting. The video popped on to my screen, with audio, distracting and disturbing co-workers.”
