In my previous guide to rebuilding a Windows PC, I recommended Acronis True Image software for creating a full backup (or clone) of your computer’s hard drive so that all your software programs and data can be easily restored in case there’s any break-down in the future.
Acronis True Image is a commercial disk cloning utility and costs around $50 per license but here’s how you can download the full licensed version of Acronis True Image 10 Personal Edition for free with a valid serial number for life.

Download Acronis True Image for free – The serial number seen here is for illustration and not real.
Go to acronis.co.uk and type your name and email address. They’ll send you confirmation link over email. You need to click that link and if that returns a 500 error, just try again. It will work and you find the free serial number for Acronis True Image in your inbox the next second.
Update: The links have been taken down from this website as we did not have permission from Acronis to post such a thing. Also, the serial number that you see in the screenshot is just for illustrative purposes and not a real code.
This offer is primarily for readers of Personal Computer World, a British tech magazine and is very similar to what TechSmith did an year ago. They allowed users to download old versions of both SnagIt and Camtasia Studio for free – some of them may have really enjoyed using the software and may have taken the upgrade path.

I got a link by talking to the Live Chat people on the Acronis website. They generated one for me which included my personal serial number.

Link isn’t working for me. For those looking for free alternatives, I highly recommend Macrium Reflect Free. I confirmed that it will successfully backup & restore Windows 7 over the weekend.

What’s going on here? No only is this promotion a closed download for our magazine readers, you are promoting a serial code without permission from Acronis.
I assume you’ve bothered to get permission from Acronis to print this promotion and that serial code? No. Of course not.

Chris – The serial number of Acronis True Image posted in the above screenshot is just for illustrative purpose and not the real code.
Thank you for contacting me via email. I have removed the links.
