Techsmith has uploaded some teaser videos on YouTube suggesting that Camtasia Studio 8 for Windows could be hitting shelves very soon. The last major release of this popular Window screencasting software happened more than two years ago.

Techsmith isn’t saying much except that they have “completely rebuilt” Camtasia Studio 8 and that editing will be much faster and easier in CS 8.

I haven’t seen the new version but if the following videos were done inside Camtasia, it is quite possible that it will at least have video filters and improved video titling. A comment on a Facebook page suggests that Camtasia Studio 8 will have more audio layers as well (you are currently limited to 3).
