The Economic Times - Cashing on Blogs

The Economic Times carries an interview with Indian Bloggers who can very well live on to the earnings from their respective blogs for a relatively longer period - "Blogging has been in the picture for quiet some time and people are generating money from it. And it’s not small money that we are talking about!"

Amit Agarwal says, “I was still in the job but was very active on Internet forums like the ‘Experts Exchange’ trying to help people solve their tech related issues. Blogging was a natural extension to that hobby,” says Agarwal. In 2004, Amit quit his job to become a professional blogger.

Agarwal says that today blogs are well accessed across the globe and hence he is able to live a comfortable life with the income generated through the blog.

He concludes by advising budding bloggers, “Blogging requires a lot of effort and you will not see results overnight. Be consistent and keep writing stuff that you enjoy - you will slowly have a community around your blog and everything else will fall in place automatically.”
