The weblog, which turns 10 this week, is not as big in India as in the West, but it has given birth to a tribe of blogging superstars.

Between two to three million Indians have started a blog at some time, according to Juxt Consult. Yet, with an Internet penetration of less than five per cent, blogs remain a niche phenomenon in the country. That’s possibly why we haven’t seen influential blogs on the lines of The Huffington Post in the country yet. An overwhelming number of bloggers continue to be techies.
