This world map courtesy Oxyweb should help you visualize the popularity of various social networks across different parts of the globe.
There aren’t any major differences with the previous world map except that we have more detailed data for Asia, Europe and African nations. Oxyweb has used Alexa traffic data to determine the popularity of social sites so the margin of error stands high.

Cool map, but the coloration makes it really hard to read for a lot of countries. Maybe a revision where the most common social networks are shades of different primary colors is in order.

This result seems wrong to me. For example Orkut and Facebook has far more Iranian members than Cloob….

poland doesn’t use grono(PL) - rather most of people use nasza-klasa.pl - something like facebook [but without all those gadgets fb has] check alexa’s global 500 [22.10.2008 - nasza-klasa.pl 91th place - before google.pl 93]
