If we could turn the population of the earth into a small community of 100 people, keeping the same proportions we have today, it would be something like this:
6 people own 59% wealth of the entire community. Only 12 have a computer and only 3 have an Internet connection. The video is very informative and an eye-opener.

There is a Snopes.com article on a similar study at link - Please read through before swallowing this whole.

So, Ashley, are you saying everything in this world is fine and dandy? Still the wealth is concentrated on a few hands, while many are dying in large numbers.

Actually, the Snopes article only makes slight changes to most of the figures and contains several errors, such as assuming that the world average for graduation rates is the same as that of the U.S.
In general, the numbers given are very close to more current ones, as the former may have come from earlier studies (this view of seeing the world as a village of one hundred people was passed around via e-mail several years ago), which might explain the slight differences.

@Ashley: It looks to me as if the figures in this video are more accurate than the figures on the page you listed.
