Live Search Giving Prizes To Anyone Who Rolls a Double-6

When you’re on the Live Search contest page, for every search you do, a pair or Dice will roll and if you get a double ‘6’ within a 10 minute interval, you win.

There are a couple of good reasons for you to use Live Search over Yahoo or Google but if they aren’t convincing enough, here’s one more – you can win prizes (free talktime) for every search query that you type in Live Search. It’s a game of pure luck.

It works like this – you do a regular search in Live Search and pair of Dice will roll on your screen as shown in the animation above. If you are lucky and manage to get a double ’6′ within a 10 minute interval, you win the game.

A game session lasts for 10 minutes only so even if you win a prize, you won’t to wait long for entering the next session. Give it a shot.

I searched for VC++ Blog and I got 6 and 5 on the dice. I thought maybe I should narrow it down and did VC++ Testers Blog and Bingo 6 & 6 on the dice.

However, like any other microsoft product I couldn’t claim the prize, here is the ScreenShot http://www.convergence.in/images/microsoft-sucks.PNG and when I signed into Live it again took me to the Search Page and not the page where I am supposed to enter Mobile Number to claim the prize.

Not that I need the prize but to enlighten users that they could be wasting time with Microsoft.

Thanks Amit I just now got double ‘6′ within 3 minutes…. they asked me to sign in to my live ac and took my cell no. I am expecting a message from them withing next 24hrs…..oh god…it’s so exciting… i can’t wait for such a long time. friends the contest will be ending on jan 3 2009 so this is the only period (unless microsoft extends this)you can make some bucks. Give a try to it and i am sure microsoft will definitely lengthen the time period as it is absolutely difficult for microsoft to take the attention of google users towards live search.

Argh. I use Live Search all the time actually (just “almost” there with Google’s and Yahoo!’s relevance), and I think these little gimmicks are rather disappointing.

I get how Microsoft does need more people using Live Search, so relevancy can get better through the users, but maybe the algorithm just isn’t that good. Instead of gimmicks, Microsoft should work on enhancing the feature set available for search. More tools to help assist, would be great.

Microsoft should point out their Image and Video search too, which I think are above the competition. I use searchandgive.com a lot, and it looks ugly and nothing like the Live Search I’m used to. People probably don’t like it either.

I just think Microsoft should get away from gimmicks, and actually improve relevancy, and features within Live Search to make it a more viable switch.

And there are no steps how to claim in that website. If anybody received talktime do reply me what are the steps to be followed in the website.

yes as i mentioned I did receive talktime. Each time you win, you oxicash account will be credited with 100 INR. Click on My Wallet and login with your details, go to Mobile Recharge and choose the voucher based on your state and mobile network provider details

Yes. after choosing the mobile network provider and the top up then it is asking oxicash id and the pin no. After clicking buy there is a message coming low balance. When I checked the balance in the option provided, it is mentioning 101. how can I retrieve the balance.

hey guys, i have won almost 10 times in three days. You need to create one windows ID and one account at oxicash.in. make sure you enter the same mobile number in both the sites. It was unbelievable. i had Rs.1000 in my oxicash account.
