Not sure when this feature was introduced but if you search for images on Yahoo, it also offers some brilliant and useful suggestions related to your query.

For instance, when I searched for images of domino’s pizza on Yahoo, the suggestions included McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, KFC and Subway – all fast food chains. However, the suggestions for the word "pizza" were about ice creams, cakes and only food items.
And here are some more examples for "India" and "Barack Obama". It’s useful because you get to see related places, personalities, objects, etc. right in the same search query.

looks like they come out just when you spell wrong (you typed right here but wrong in the query string). If you type correctly the won’t appear – anyhow you’re right: was good to have’em always on!

Why are you bashing Yahoo Image Search? And then you’re doing it so wrong.

Notice: “Others who searched for “…” also searched for:

Interesting. I wonder if it’s anything like the random walk approach that Nick Craswell and Martin Szummer use:

This has been around in Y! Image Search for a long time, but suggestions using images gets activated only for queries which have loads of hits. For queries which have lesser hits it suggests using text terms.
This is also there in Yahoo! Web Search. Search for _anything_ and it will suggest similar queries. (This is something Google doesn’t do.) Yahoo! offered Search Suggestions before Google did, and suggesting similar queries AFTER the results have been loaded allow you to refine your query.

Royalblogger is right — this feature was enabled while I was the Product Mgr for Img Search.
