How to write a Press Release - The right structure of a Press Release Document, the ideal length of a corporate press release and some hints / tips on writing a press release from Microsoft Partner Program.

Follow the inverted pyramid style of keeping the most important information up front, followed by information of decreasing importance.

Make certain you have correct addresses and contact information for your media contacts before you send your release.

Length of Press Release - Ideally, a press release should be just one side of an A4 page, and it should be no longer than two sides.

Use the method of delivery (regular post, fax or e-mail) that your media contact prefers. Don’t know? Ask.

The Boilerplate - The boilerplate is a brief description of your company, which can include: the date it was founded; the number of employees; your rank in the market; and website information.
