Fox News is reporting that Indian outsourcing major Satyam Computer services might be behind the recent cyberattacks against the World Bank.

Bank investigators discovered that spy software was covertly installed on workstations at the bank’s Washington headquarters allegedly by Satyam contractors. Upon its discovery bank officials shut off the data link between Washington and Satyam’s offshore center at Chennai and reportedly banned Satyam from doing any off-shore work with the World Bank.

A World Bank spokesman, however, has denied these claims.

The Fox News story is wrong and is riddled with falsehoods and errors. The story cites misinformation from unattributed sources and leaked emails that are taken out of context.
