Send Pictures from Google Picasa Directly to Photoshop for Editing

Picasa-photoshop This is something for Adobe Photoshop fans who also use Google Picasa for managing their collection of photographs offline.

You can quickly add a Photoshop button in Google Picasa that will automatically open the current picture inside Photoshop for advanced editing. That should save some of your time.

Install Photoshop CS3 Button - When you click this link, Picasa launches (if it is not already running) and installs the Photoshop icon.

And not just Photoshop, you can send your Picasa photos to any image editing program like Fireworks, Corel Painter, etc though that would require to learn this Picasa API. The Photoshop button was created by Michael Herf.

Here’s a quick video explaining how to create your own Picasa Buttons:

SnagIt has a similar feature that’s called Capture Profiles. You take a screenshot and Snagit will directly send that to Photoshop, Outlook, Mindmanager or any other external program.

You can either create your own capture profiles in SnagIt (without learning any complex API) or download ready-to-use outputs from TechSmith.com.

Great tip - Can more than one editor button be added? particular for freeware programs - photofiltre, The Gimp, etc…

Great add-on! I have to edit from Picasa to PS all the time but don’t have CS3. I was, however, able to edit the app by downloading the API, unzipping it and changing the .pbf file with Notepad and editing the <param name=”exe_path_regkey” and changing directory from “10.0″ to “7.0″ (my version number and apps folder name).
Pretty good for a landlubber and it works perfect now!
Cheers!

Hello,
I have some small video family movies and I would like to send it to some of my family.
So I push the e-mail button of Picasa, go to my Gmail address, but it send only the first picture of the home made video.
Is Picasa only for sending pictures?
Thank you

I used to use “open with” to go to Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0, but it just stopped working. Anyone help me get it back?
