Here is neat trick to load a Wikipedia data table in Google Docs.
Let’s take the list of countries by population for instance.

Google Docs allows HTML to be imported via the “=ImportHtml” function. The function requires the URL of the HTML document, the HTML element to extract data from (table) and the position of the HTML element (2nd table).

Google Docs does the rest and creates a spreadsheet that can be shared, exported or saved.
