Google Instant, true to its name, provides answers faster than you type. The feature is impressive though it might take a while for us to get used to this new style of searching.

With Google Instant, they made one more important change to the search results pages though it largely went unnoticed – they have dropped the second search box.

That means if you are looking at the lower half of search results, you’ll now have to scroll all the way up to modify your search query. Maybe enough people aren’t looking at results below the fold and hence Google made this change but I personally found the original layout with a search box at the bottom slightly more useful.

The classic version of Google still has the second search box as this change is only live for pages that are served via Google Instant.
