Use Your Google Account as an OpenID

You can now login to any website that supports OpenID using your very own Google Account.

To create a custom OpenID URL with your Google Account username, go to appspot.com and login using your Google credentials. You will be assigned an OpenID sign-on that looks something like this:

http://openid-provider.appspot.com/abc@xyz.com where abc@xyz.com is the email address associated with your Google Account.

Google’s own Blogger platform also uses OpenID for comments. The OpenID system for Google Accounts has been implemented using the new Google App Engine.

Nice! Now, if only I could sign on to your comments section with my OpenID, I could try it out and see if it works!

May be I am bit late. And it says that like this below.

Unfortunately, space is limited during Google App Engine’s preview release. As we expand, we’ll invite more developers, but for now you’ll have to wait.
Thanks

Did you also know that if you use a custom domain on blogger, you can use your custom domain as an OpenID :)

I am using my wordpress ID as my open ID. I dont feel like using google everywhere, maybe I am afraid of being tracked by a corporate giant!

lol especially the non-encrypted mail address in the openID address is funny…
