nikon d40 banner ad on flickr

Just spotted the above banner on Flick website – it’s about the Nikon D40 DSLR camera and takes you to the official D40 website where they’ve shown hobbyists and casual photographs capturing pro-shorts with their D40.

While the landing site is excellent but this is a good example of a poorly designed ad – everything is text which is written in a font so small that most people can’t read it. It looks as if a two year old has done the ad for Nikon – the color scheme, letter spacing, line height, text layout and font family – everything gets a C grade.
