News Corp. today officially launched the MySpace India website at in.myspace.com in a market that is almost ruled by Google’s Orkut and even Facebook to a certain degree.
And in an effort to attract the young crowd here, MySpace India is also sponsoring a TV program that will broadcast on Star TV.
Here’s my MySpace page though I am not an active member.
PS: The more obvious web URLs for MySpace India like myspace.in and myspace.co.in are already taken by domain squatters.
Update: Nikhil has an interview with Tarun Tripathi and Amit Kapur of MySpace where they reveal that MySpace India has around half a million users. That number could grow as more Bollywood celebrities and Fashion Designers open up their MySpace accounts.

Interesting observation, on the same day, you have Orkut also opening up much-awaited applications.
