If you are subscribed to any of the email newsletters from Britannica Encyclopedia, make sure you have read this clause:
“You will be removed from the active mailing list for On This Day if you do not open or click on any On This Day email during any consecutive 30-day period.”
Hope this doesn’t apply to content syndicated via RSS feeds.

Good catch. That disclaimer does need more clarification, which we will definitely do.
Amit, to answer your question - no, this policy does not apply to our RSS feeds, only the daily emails. Our reasoning was if someone had received 30 of our daily emails in a row and hadn’t opened any of them, then he/she were probably not that interested anymore. And as Adam points out, rather than continue to pollute someone’s inbox with potentially unwanted email, we figured we’d just stop sending to these people.
