Unilever has launched a new Facebook App to promote their skin whitening cream – Vaseline for Men – in India.
The app takes your current profile picture on Facebook and automatically lightens the skin color of the face in the picture. You can then choose to replace your existing Facebook avatar with this retouched image.
Hoping to cash in on our obsession with ‘fair’ skin, the company is also aggressively pushing their Facebook app through the Google Network using funny taglines like “have a fairer, spotless profile pic on Facebook” and “people see your face first.”
