Fighting Plagiarism on Digg

Consider an extended form of plagiarism - You write an article that’s good enough to hit the front page of Digg. But then someone makes a copy of that article on his/her website and submits his own link to Digg.

Digg members, who never check the facts, will soon make that copied version a front page story. The plagiarist gets all the hits and backlinks. How do you deal with the situation here ?

When a similar thing happened to Jonathan, he got the home number and address of the Digg thief using the whois information of the web domain.  Then he contacted the hosting company of the website and informed them of a clear copyright violation. The web host removed the stolen article within 24 hours.

Not just the stolen article but the entire web site of the thief is now offline according to David.
