“What should we do to free our planet from terrorism?”
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s question posted on Yahoo! India Answers received close to 30,000 responses. The winner will be announced on the outgoing president’s last working day in office.
Dr Kalam’s question received an overwhelming 15,000 responses from high school children across India. He has selected the 10 best answers and the winners will get a special educational tour of Silicon Valley.
Picking out the winning response Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam commented: “Of the shortlist put together by the (Yahoo! India) editorial team, I have selected 2 answers by Sugato Mitra and Karthik Durairajan as 1 and 2, in that order. In my opinion, to a certain extent, possible solutions emerge from a combination of these two answers.”
