Microsoft is trying something unique to make Windows Live Hotmail popular among Indians (especially the young crowd).
Instead of the default @hotmail.com or @live.com address, you can now opt for other email address choices that relate more closely with your personality, interests or lifestyle.
Microsoft has registered hundreds of web domains like ilovebikes.in, iammarried.in, leavemealone.in, Underpaid.co.in, bangalorerocks.in, iliveinmalabarhill.in, clubdhoni.in, clubaishwarya.com to name a few. You can pick the one you like from coolhotmail.com.
You can use the same custom Hotmail email id to also sign on Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Spaces.
And if you have an e-mail ID in mind that isn’t in Microsoft list, send them a message and they may consider it. Thanks Anand.

Reminds me of Mail.com. I had got my very first email account there with an India.com suffix. But India.com later went on to become an independent entity. Many journalists proudly announced their profession using Mail.com’s service.

They have also opened up domain mail for India. I set it up on a domain, and remain a GApps fan by a huge margin.
