State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) network may soon launch services of Blackberry and Apple iPhone to bring premium customers under its fold.
Incidentally, BSNL is the only telecom operator to have licnece for 3G services as it has already been allotted 3G radio frequencies. While Airtel and Vodafone could only get 3G spectrum if they win the licence auctions.
This would mean BSNL will be the first telco in India offer 3G service on the iPhone and also help Apple in getting a wider hold of Indian market.
This may also come in as good news for Blackberry and iPhone aspirants, as it may signal some sign of price cut due to increasing competition.
