NDTVNews broadcaster NDTV’s entertainment venture, NDTV Imagine could be valued at over Rs.2000 crore, much before it airs it channels.

NDTV is also believed to be talks in GE Group’s NBC Universal to sell 26% stake in NDTV Entertainment, a 100% subsidiary of NDTV.

NDTV Imagine would three channels under NDTV Imagine. First would be a general Hindi general entertainment channel in Hindi followed by a movie and music channel.

The valuation could attract more investments in NDTV as it has already received FIPB nod for foreign investment of Rs.585 crore for its foray into entertainment and lifestyle space. Most of this investment (from Rs 585 crore) will be into NDTV Imagine.

If NBC indeed partners NDTV, then we could well have another group challenging established players like Zee, Sony, TV18 and STAR in the television space owing to quality programming and access to latest technology and infrastructure. Source
