Kingfisher - Air DeccanUB Group’s Kingfisher Airlines may increase its stake in Air Deccan to a holding 51% post open offer and make it a subsidiary of itself.

Also, there is news that a new brand with ‘King’ as a prefix for Air Deccan may be introduced and the possible names include Kingstar or KingAir.

The merger has also started showing signs of expected benefits. The group is jointly meeting aircraft and equipment suppliers, they are optimally utilising the airport resources and have jointly renewed the fleet insurance managing a big discount.

ET also reports that the group did a ‘King Power’ campaign all over the country which focused on combined strength of the two airlines. The colours used were Kingfisher’s bold red and white with no trace of Air Deccan’s blue and yellow, surely signs of things to come.
