Airtel Broadband & Telephone Services has partnered with Google to offer customised Homepage and associated web-based services powered by Google to Airtel broadband customers free of cost.
Under the agreement, Airtel will offer a portal which includes Google Search, Gmail, Google Talk, Google Docs and Spreadsheets, NetXpert for troubleshooting, Web SMS, Security Services, gaming and music download services. In future, e-commerce applications will also be added.
Airtel and Google also have a strategic partnership that enables Google search on handsets for Airtel users on Airtel Live mobile WAP portal. Google also incorporates its Mobile Ads product on the Airtel Live mobile portal for revenue generation.
Airtel aims to extend this partnership to its DTH venture too which it expects to launch soon to meet three screen customer needs on TV, PC and Mobile.
