India’s first low-cost airline may soon turn into a ‘premium brand’ shedding its image of being a common man’s airline. Even the name may be changed by clipping the word Air and changing it to just ‘Deccan’.
The new image would be just akin to the acquirer Kingfisher fleet and would have bright red and white colour with a blue kingfisher bird on its tail. The incumbent blue and white colours with yellow hands would cease to exist.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the interiors would change along with the check-in counters and crew uniform, coupled with improved service standards. Though this would come at a higher price to bring the airlines into profit.
As a matter of fact, Air Deccan is likely to break even before Kingfisher airlines.
Meanwhile, Kingfisher Airlines is thinking of starting non-stop flights between several Indian and European and American cities, which may make it the first Indian carrier to have all non-stop international flights.
