Electronics StoreThe consumer durables and information technology (CDIT) segment is witnessing increased participation from the big retail players. After Pantaloon’s e-zone, Tata’s Croma and Reliance Digital, it’s now Aditya Birla Retail that will soon launch a speciaility CDIT store in Pune.

The group has already has a presence in this segment through its Trinethra Hypermarket in Mysore. It sources its products from suppliers such as Godrej, Videocon, LG and Samsung

Aditya Birla Retail plans to open 150 such outlets by 2010. Industry expects the contribution of this segment in the total retail turnover to go upto 20% from current 10%. [via]
