To benefit the families of 17 slain security personnel in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks, Axis Bank has come forward with a novel way of setting up a special account "Account 26/11".

The account is open till 31st January, 2009 and the Account Number is 447010100132022 with Axis Bank, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai branch. The process is completely transparent and cumulative collections are announced on Internet every day.

The contribution can be made through cheque, Internet banking, ATM or NEFT.

However, contributions made to account are not eligible or exemption under Income Tax Act.
