The Plastic Logic Reader will hit the retail shelves sometime in 2010 and, unlike Amazon Kindle or Sony Reader, this e-ink reading device has a large 8.5 x 11-inch touch screen and weighs less than a pound.

Document formats supported by Plastic Logic

The Plastic Logic Reader supports most popular document formats including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ePub and Adobe PDF. You can read them on Kindle as well but it requires you to convert these document into a proprietary format.

Documents can be transferred to Plastic Logic Reader via a wired USB cable or wirelessly. Plastic logic also plans to provide books, Zinio magazines and newspapers on their ebook reader.

You may also use Plastic Logic for reading HTML web pages or for viewing pictures that are in JPEG, PNG or BMP formats.
