You can soon download BlackBerry 4.5 from the RIM website - it’s a free OS device software upgrade for all BlackBerry Mobile phones including BlackBerry Curve, Pearl and the 8800 World Edition. You can install BlackBerry 4.5 OS via the BlackBerry desktop manager software. Here are some other BlackBerry downloads:
1. Download BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5
2. Download Premium BlackBerry Themes for Free
BlackBerry OS 4.5 will add some new features to all BlackBerry models including voice recording, streaming YouTube videos, video recording function in BlackBerry Curve but the best part is that after installing BlackBerry 4.5, you will be able read HTML emails on your BlackBerry without purchasing BB Smart Email Viewer from Handango.
You can also read and edit Microsoft Office documents including the latest Office 2007 inside BlackBerry with OS 4.5. That is possible through Dataviz Documents to Go suite that allows viewing and editing Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents.
It is not confirmed with this will also upgrade the BlackBerry Internet Explorer that lacks behind Opera and the iPhone Safari. But it definitely adds a better BlackBerry Media Player.

All the original formatting will be preserved in your emails including fonts, images, web hyperlinks, tables, etc. This should be very exciting for web mail users of Gmail, Yahoo or even Google Apps.
The link to download 4.5 BlackBerry OS upgrade should go live in the first half of this year. Unfortunately, BlackBerry is not adding any new free games with 4.5 and you have to stay contend with the Brick Breaker. I would have also loved to see a free BlackBerry Screen Capture tool with the upgrade as that makes support very easy.
If you are on Hutch, Vodafone, Airtel or Reliance Communications, you may have to wait until these mobile companies upgrade their BlackBerry server software before providing the 4.5 OS upgrade package on their websites. US Carriers like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T will be upgrading software of all their BlackBerry clients.

The os 4.5 is available for every carrier besides At&t. They were suppose to release it Septemper 23. Some people were able to install another carriers 4.5 on At&t, any instructions on doing so?

Blackberry changed the OS because most people were installing it on At&t phones without their permissions. It is no longer able to download for at&t customers.

Does anyone know a link to download the old O.S 4.5 update. The newer update no longer works. I am thinking about switching to the Bold. I hate the browser of the curve. This is a huge issue with me. I don’t understand why all the other carriers get the update. Is at&t being cheap and not paying RIM? Come’on At&t! I think they leave me no choice but to get the Bold. If someone has the update PLEASE Post a link. Thanks!

you are now able to upgrade on at&t….just upgraded my curve (installation was simple but sloooowww). The video and voice note functions are great, and the web browser now has a mouse pointer for point-and-click navigation. The email is definitely nicer to look at as far as the font and layout, but I thought HTML emails meant I would be able to see graphics in the emails, but I cannot.
