Apple iPhone 3G is almost half the price of iPhone 1.0, works on 3G that delivers better data speeds than GPRS / EDGE networks and has a built-in GPS chip like the Nokia N78.
The other advantage of iPhone 3G is that you can talk on the iPhone and surf the Internet simultaneously, which was not possible earlier.
iPhone 2.0 looks exactly like the iPhone 1.0 though it weighs less. The launch of iPhone in India will happen later this year but the first review of iPhone 3G are now out:
Walt is not really happy with the battery of iPhone 3G that drains much quickly than iPhone 1.0 - this is a problem because iPhone has a sealed battery that can’t be replaced with a spare.
Walt is however impressed with the audio quality but laments the lack of video recording in iPhone camera.
Pogue says that cheap iPhone is just a myth - by the end of your two-year contract, the iPhone 3G will have cost you more than the old iPhone, not less.
Dave says that the new iPhone feels even better in your hand and also has a standard headphone jack so you may use even non-Apple headphones.
