Most notebook computers look outdated within an year or two so Fujitsu has come up with an interesting scheme to deal with this problem.
You can buy any notebook from the Fujitsu Lifebook range and they’ll send you a brand new notebook every three years for the rest of your life free of cost.
The rules for claiming your free Fujitsu notebook are a bit strict though – you have to preserve the initial sales receipt for making the claim and if you forget to ask for an upgrade, then you are ineligible for any future laptops.
PC Pro has more details on the Lifebook4Life scheme that is currently live in UK.

sounds really interesting, I wonder, how do they go about making money from this scheme? there ought to be some fine print readable only through a magnifying glass. Unless they intend to close shop within three years.

I’m sure there are a lot of fine prints with this, one is that one can only take an equivalent machine home every three years and you have to keep the receipts … and if you miss taking a new machine once then you’re out of the offer and a lot more. I don’t think they’ll lose money per se, I think this would be a good boost to their income in this bleak economy and they can profit from servicing … oh wait .. is that another fine point ? You have to buy the 3 year extended warranty …

Also, it’s not transferable to anyone you specify in your will after you pass on to the great beyond.
The offer goes pfft! when you do. ;-)
