Dell today introduced a new mini-notebook called Dell Inspiron Mini that weighs just over a kg, runs on Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP and costs around $350 in the US.
Some popular alternatives to the Dell Inspiron Min are Eee PC, MSI Wind, Lenovo S10 and the HP Mini Note.

Amith, i just bought a Dell Studio 15 laptop with model no 1535. But the problem is that they are not giving drivers for xp. They only provide drivers for vista. I believe that you are the right person who can help me.
Please provide me the driver links. I am a big fan of Windows XP.

Looks truly interesting.
The price also looks minimal and a gadget to be grabbed!

As you have rightly mentioned, Dell is trying to play in the arena that is currently dominated by Asus, Eee PC etc. Is this something Dell sees as a viable market? I mean, this line of PC’s typically run on solid state hard drives with minimal storage capacity (I think Dell mini 9 offers up to 16GB). I can only imagine that this would be a secondary laptop on top of a primary PC/laptop. I really don’t see much of a value in these so called “netbooks”, Just my 2 cents.
