Linksys recently introduced a wireless router in the US - the problem is that when customers dial the toll-free tech support number printed on the router box, they are connected to an adult phone sex service.
The routers were originally designed for sale in India. When Cisco introduced them in US, they modified the packing but forgot to change the tech support number that was printed on the box and the user manual.
Then phone number of Linksys Tech support in India is 1-800-425-5797 but when dialed in US, that number connects to you an adult phone service. Funny coincidence but it may put some customers in a very embarrassing situation. WSJ and Linksys has the details.

And they say outsourcing is bad. Now that’s customer service. I called Dell support and got patched through to 1-800-DENTIST. Not nearly as fun.

ROFL that is hilarious. SCORE! I wonder if the chick on the phone would enjoy the size of my cache. If she doesn’t cooperate, I’ll have to show her the ‘ping of death’
