Donating Computers to Schools in India

Yesterday I wrote an article for FE that it makes lot of sense to donate your old and used computers to schools, NGOs and charities.

The trend is also catching up among the large Indian companies.

Jyotiraditya Scindia shared in the Forbes Forum that they have asked companies donate PCs to schools instead of sending them to recyclers or dumping in the junk yard (computer are not bio-degradable and contain toxic components).

The response he says: “We offered them advertising on the screensavers and desktops as an incentive. First year we got 300 PCs. Now we’re getting around 600 a year.”
