Is it time replace the dead laptop battery ?

The link I’ve post is for teh 6 volt battery, which claims there are 32 AA batteries inside. However, I’ve not tried this myself because I discovered the following on Snopes.com: link It’s the same video and claims it’s a fake hack and suggests not attempting it.
Insight, anyone? Has anyone ever tried either?
