i tried to install wordpres in my blog http://www.ampercent.com but cant.everytime i am getting the same error message " error establishing database connection".i have filled in the database details correctly and checked my hosting provider.Everything is just ok.I cant understand why i am getting the error message everytime.
One of the DI members sparx suggested me to try the 5 minute free installation by some wordpress expert.It involves giving them my username and password.Will it be safe ?
Who are you using for hosting and did you create the database. When you create the database and set the password it should normally tell you that the databse is created and the location or the path for the database. depending on how your hosting provider handels it it might be mysql.yourdomain.com, mysql.hostingprovidersdomain.com or something else.
Please contact your hosing provider to find this info
If you decide to use Wordpress experts like Sparx suggested, I don't see any problem in giving you username and password to those guys. Just set you password to something you can share with them and then change it after the install is complete.
@Amit: I believe you've misunderstood what I'm trying to say - the 5-minute install usually works. If there are certain customisations needed, then an advanced installation guide is also provided. The installation is expected to be carried out by the blog owner.
