  2. To answer your post "clearly":

you don't need phpMyAdmin to run WordPress, although at times it does make administering the database much easier.

Here's a link to a tutorial - How to install phpMyAdmin on Windows.

  4. i have faced great problems with Windows Server. So i suggest you better use a Linux server.

On a windows Server you cant tweak certain settings like .htaccess.you may require to tweak them for permalinks and all.So why not a Linux Server ?

I suggest you use Linux hosting, because there are licensing issues.

  6. ok, all of you suggest Linux hosting. Is there any other advantage for that?

  7. Yes...it's mostly cheaper and there are loads of free/cheap but very powerful tools that can be used on Linux based hosting plans.

Also, support can be easily found on online forums and they're generally perceived to be more secure than Windows servers although that isn't neessarily true. Pick your host and plans as per your needs. Talk to the service providers and clear all your doubts before opting to plonk your money down.

like : working very slow, post failed, backup problem, sidebar login window plugin not work properly.

  9. can i host jsp pages at LINUX hosting?

  10. That depends entirely on your provider/hosting service...

If they have Apache/Tomcat installed and available to you, then JSP support is part of the package. Again...this is entirely dependent on your package and your provider.

  11. i'm now using WAMP server for running PHP. In the same way, what server is being used for running PHP in the web server.

I knew WAMP server has Apache server. But why it does not support JSP?

  12. Apache HTTP server is different from Apache Tomcat which is a Servlet Container - essentially Apache HTTP Server hosts web pages via HTTP. Tomcat serves JSP pages.

  13. Linux hosting is best for wordpress blog. Windows hosting is very costly.

  14. Can i change my hosting from Windows to Linux now?

  15. Dhana: That's a question that can only be answered by your hosting provider. While I don't think most providers would allow you that option, if your provider had a trial period or a money-back guarantee if you aren't satisfied then that would probably be your best bet.

Talk to your provider about switching over to a Linux package. To remind you - Windows hosting is more expensive than Linux hosting.

  16. sparx: i contacted my hosting provider. They accept this change of hosting and cheap too as you said.

    Thanks
