    OS: XP
    Browser: Firefox (latest version)

Here's what I want to do: Upload mp3 files to my Blogspot blog similar to uploading video or image files so readers can listen to a song in a post.

I have read through some of the other posts dealing with this, but I'm still not sure about which player to embed (if I have to at all). I have the FoxyTunes add-on for Firefox which apparently uses the Yahoo player. I'm semi-literate in playing with HTML in my template, so I'm not scared; but I'm no techie by any stretch. I just want to do this as easily as possible.

I have thought about using a movie software program to basically make a slideshow with audio, as I have seen done on Youtube. What is the best free choice other than Windows Movie Maker (I don't have it on my computer - long story, and I'd rather not go into that)?

I'm not really interested in podcasting. I just want to offer songs for readers to listen to in posts where I discuss a song or artist, so I guess what I'm asking is, "What is my best option?" Embedding an mp3 player or making a video slide show using a free movie making program? Or is there something else I haven't considered.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. There are a number of web based flash players that can be used to play the music. Unfortunately, the music mp3 needs to be hosted somewhere - a direct link *will* be required.

Amit has described a method to use the embedded GMail mp3 player here.

Also take a look at this blog post.

A lot of people also take advantage of Blogger's ability to embed Google video by simply making a video containing a static image and the audio layered behind it and then using said video in their post.

It all depends on how much effort you think is worth being put in...

Thank you. I will investigate those options.

    Cheers from New Zealand!
