Hi,
I have been searching for the technology behind google news and how it is different from regular web search.
I am looking for the techniques and Information extraction as well as information retrieval technology or algorithm that is behind google news and other regular web search.
Can any one help me with this.

Think of Google News as a subset of Google search universe.
While the main Google web search engine indexes every bit of information it finds on the web, Google News indexes only online news sources that are hand-picked by the team .
Google Search content is decided by the spiders (googlebot) but the editors manually pick the sites that should be indexed in Google News.
You have to have some original content for Google News editors to include your site in Google News.
